Following the agreement with China Audio Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as "CAIA"), the SparkLink Alliance held an ad hoc online conference to approve a new project, Low Latency Low Complexity HiRes-Audio-Codec, as part of Release 2.0 standard on June 20, 2022. The SparkLink Alliance and the CAIA both agreed to jointly work on the standard in last month. Senior menders from CAIA and more than 60 experts who represent 30 members of SaprkLInk Alliance attended the meeting. 

The meeting was chaired by Zhiyong Sun, deputy secretary-general of SparkLink Alliance, and it was joined by Dr. Yuming Ge, the leader of Re Head of Requirements and Standards Group. Senior menders from CAIA including Xiaodong Li, vice president and director of Expert Committee of CAIA, Wei Huang, secretary-general of CAIA, Hong peng, deputy secretary-general, Mr. Guiguan Dong and Dr. Chunli Ti, presented the meeting.

During the meeting, the SparkLink Alliance firstly invited Wei Huang to brief organizational, business scope and operation of the CAIA. It then comes with overview of this bilateral collaboration by Dr. Bin Zhen, standards expert of the secretariat of SparkLink Alliance. Dr. Jian Wang, standard expert from Huawei, presented the project proposal on low latency and low complexity HiRes audio codec. The proposal was unanimously approved by the conference.

According to the meeting, the secretariat of SaprkLink Alliance announced establishment of a joint team with CAIA to carry out the standardization of the audio codec technology and its transportation and adaption over the SparkLink wireless communications.
