First Meeting of SparkLink’s Four Promotion Groups

On Dec 11th, 2020, the first meeting of the four promotion groups of SparkLink Alliance, Smart Home Industry Promotion, Smart Manufacturing Industry Promotion, Smart Automotive Industry Promotion, and Smart Device Industry Promotion, was successfully held in Beijing. More than 100 experts from over 40 alliance members attended the meeting that discussed the subsequent work objectives and plans of the groups. Besides, the meeting discussed the application scenarios, challenges, demands on SparkLink technology of the above four industries as well as the SparkLink prototype-based demonstration scenarios and plans.

The session of the Smart Home Industry Promotion was hosted by Chen Hao, R & D Director of Beijing Lenovo Software Co., Ltd (Group Leader). Chen Canfeng, an expert engineer from Xiaomi (Deputy Group Leader), Li Hui, a system architect from TCL (Deputy Group Leader), and the representatives of the group members attended the session.


The Smart Manufacturing Industry Promotion session was chaired by Ma Shuai, Chief Researcher of the IoT Institute of China Mobile Research Institute (group leader). Xu Chi, Deputy Researcher of Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (deputy leader), Yu Jingwei, a senior solution manager from Lenovo (deputy leader), and the representatives of the group members attended the session.


The session of the Smart Automotive Industry Promotion was hosted by Qin Kongjian, R & D Director of China Automotive Technology & Research Center (group leader). Wang Haichuan, Deputy Chief Engineer of BAIC BJEV (deputy leader), Fan Yongyou, senior director of Smart Space Development of China FAW Group, and the representatives of the group members attended the session.


The Smart Device Industry Promotion session was chaired by Zhang Xiaofeng, Director of Consumer BG Short-Range Wireless Communication Standards of Huawei (group leader). Su Jinxi, a senior researcher of communication standards from OPPO (deputy leader) and the representatives of the group members attended the session.


The SparkLink Alliance is composed of 90 organizations, including industry associations, universities and scientific research institutes, and enterprises engaging in chips, finished automobiles and auto parts, mobile phones and terminals, home appliances, communication, instruments, and IT. It is committed to globalization, aiming to promote next-generation wireless short-range communication technology innovation and industry ecosystem, support applications in smart cars, smart homes, smart terminals, and smart manufacturing for extreme performance requirements.
