SparkLink Alliance and Open Link Association agree to collaborations

On October 19, 2022, SparkLink Alliance and Open Link Association (OLA) held meeting to talk about collaboration between two organizations. The meeting was chaired by Gao Hong, deputy secretary-general of SparkLink Alliance, head of the standards committee of OLA, and director of the IoT technology department of the China Telecommunication Test Labs, China Academy of Information and Communications. The meeting was in the hybrid form of offline and online. 


Mr. Hu Caiyong, secretary-general of OLA, Mr. Sun Zhiyong, executive deputy secretary of SparkLink Alliance, and experts from China Mobile, Huawei, Haier, Shanghai HiSilicon and other enterprises attended the meeting. 

Mr. Hu Caiyong expressed his earnest expectation for cooperation and wished common success of both sides in the meeting. It follows by introduction of business layout, technology scope, and organization structure of two alliances, respectively. Attendees had an in-depth discussion on the potential cooperation in the field of IoT communications and applications. An overall target was agreed to dock SparkLink technology and OLA protocols to enhance experience in the field of smart home and beyond.

As conclusion of the meeting, the two alliance agree to create a joint working group and establish a regular communication mechanism. The SparkLink provides new air interface technology to OLA, and the OLA protocol acts as third-party application in the application layer of SparkLink protocol stack. Both sides will work together for standardization and industry promotion.
