On April 15th, 2021, the SparkLink Alliance Industry Summit was successfully held in Shenzhen. In the SparkLink Industry Progress and Technology Sharingsession, the guests from the leading 15 alliance members, including CATARC, BAIC, China Mobile, Haier, Lenovo, Huawei, Rebo, AI-LINK, CESI, IGRS, Quectel, Unisoc, ICT of CAS, BlueX Micro, and Ceyear, were invited to share their opinions and views on SparkLink application scenarios, standards, solutions, chips and modules, instruments, and industrialization promotion.


Special Sharing I

Wu Xiaobo, Vice President of CNIS, presided over the first special sharing. Mr. Wu hoped that the SparkLink Alliance should not only adhere to market-oriented practices and technical innovations but also insist application security as the bottom line. As an innovative technology, SparkLink new wireless short-range communication will inevitably face challenges in network security, privacy protection, and artificial intelligence, which is a global trend shifting to new security from conventional security. For the deployments in smart cars, smart homes, smart terminals, and intelligent manufacturing, the SparkLink Alliance shall synchronize application security with standard establishment, test certification, and scenario application R & D and propose technical routes stabilizing SparkLink technology.

Yang Hong, Director of Network Technology Research of CESI, shared his thoughts on promoting the internationalization of SparkLink standards from three perspectives, international standardization organizations related to SparkLink, workflows of international standard projects, and SparkLink international standardization.

Zhang Yonggang, Vice President of BAIC Motor shared the thoughts and plans of BAIC about applying SparkLink technology to smart cars, including the overall framework and the thoughts on the applications in around view, ANC, zoning sound field, ambient lighting, and battery management.

Xiao Shanpeng, IoT Director of China Mobile Research Institute, shared the specific applications and convergence of 5G and SparkLink technology in next-generation industrial field networks. Guo Kuiyuan, IoT and Simulation Director of China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd., shared his thoughts on SparkLink technology automotive grade tests, pointing out that the automobile industry is application-oriented, and the performance indicators of SparkLink technology in automotive grade conditions are significant. Besides, he introduced the progress of the standard QC/T Technical Requirements and Test Methods of Vehicle-Mounted Wireless Short-Range Transmission System. He took ETC and LTE-V2X as examples, introducing the existing wireless communication technology automotive grade test methods and emphasizing the importance of automotive grade chip tests.

IGRS Enables Smart Industries Based on SparkLink Technology - Shenzhen IGRS

Ding Luning, R & D Director of Shenzhen IGRS, introduced the core contents of existing IGRS standards. Based on the well-established technical accumulation of IGRS standards, he proposed the idea of integrating SparkLink technology with IGRS standards. In addition, he introduced the integration program by describing the comprehensive protocol stack architecture, new protocol stack function module designs, and industrial general basic service platforms to express the desire to establish such platforms together with industrial partners.

He listed the important application scenarios of SparkLink technology in the four fields.
